For our Detector group we are looking for a

Mechatronics Technician (f/m/d) for Detector Development

The Position
  • Support the setup and maintenance of laboratory infrastructure for the Detector Development Program - contributing initially to the  Intermediate Detectors project - including cabling, mechanical supports, cooling, utilities and technical interfaces
  • Support the assembly, integration, testing and commissioning of detector systems, prototypes and related components
  • Prepare, install and adapt mechanical and electrical components, supports, fixtures, cables and interfaces in cooperation with engineers and scientists
  • Handle sensitive detector components safely during assembly, installation, testing, maintenance and modification
  • Support troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and mechatronic systems used for detector development and operation
  • Contribute to technical documentation, assembly procedures and documentation of modifications and test activities
Requirements
  • Completed mechatronics or electronics technician apprenticeship, or equivalent job experience
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control systems
  • Experience with EPLAN, Siemens NX, or comparable design software
  • Capability of  handling sensitive components and creatively solving scientific operational challenges
  • Experience with detector testing, assembly, installation is an asset
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a structured way in a multi-lingual, multi-disciplinary team with English as working language
