European XFEL is an international non-profit company located in the Hamburg area in Germany.
It operates a 3.4 km-long X-ray laser, which produces X-rays of unique quality for studies in
physics, chemistry, the life sciences, materials research and other disciplines. The diverse
scientific facilities at European XFEL enable scientists from across the globe to carry out a wide
range of experimental techniques.
For our Vacuum group we are looking for an
The Position
- Preparation and assembly of electronic components and control cabinets
- Assembly and wiring of electronic connectors and systems
- Installation and commissioning of electronic systems in the XTD tunnels
- Troubleshooting and fault diagnosis of electronic installations
- Support in maintenance and improvement of existing control systems
- Procurement and preparation of required hardware and materials
- General support for the department
- Organise and coordinate tasks with external companies
- Support in organising and maintaining the electronics laboratory
- Teamwork within a team of international technicians, engineers and scientists
Requirements
- Completed technical apprenticeship as Electrical/Electronics Technician (e.g. Energy and Building Technology, Devices and Systems or similar)
- Several years of practical experience in electrical or electronic installation and assembly
- Experience in wiring, installation and commissioning of electronic systems
- Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams
- Basic knowledge of PLC systems is considered an asset
- Structured and independent way of working
- Cooperative and collaborative personality
- German language skills required; English at working level or willingness to improve
