European XFEL is an international non-profit company located in the Hamburg area in Germany.
It operates a 3.4 km-long X-ray laser, which produces X-rays of unique quality for studies in
physics, chemistry, the life sciences, materials research and other disciplines. The diverse
scientific facilities at European XFEL enable scientists from across the globe to carry out a wide
range of experimental techniques.
For our Detector group we are looking for an
The Position
- Prototype designs of analog and mixed-signal ASIC blocks in CMOS technology for innovative X-ray pixel detectors in collaboration with international partners
- Contribute to establishing test strategies and setups for the designed ASIC structures
- Carry out the experimental characterization with the electronics laboratory equipment
- Contribute to the finalisation of the complex ASIC, including components designed by collaborators and global ASIC layout and simulation
Requirements
- Master or PhD Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent professional experience
- Previous experience in integrated analog and mixed-signal circuit design, layout and simulation
- Good understanding of the main concepts regarding signal processing and filtering as well as low-noise analog design
- Knowledge of ASIC design and simulation tools such as “Cadence Virtuoso”, Spectre and UltraSim is an asset
- Familiarity of radiation detectors is an asset
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a multi-lingual and multi-disciplinary team with English as working language
