European XFEL is an international non-profit company located in the Hamburg area in Germany.
It operates a 3.4 km-long X-ray laser, which produces X-rays of unique quality for studies in
physics, chemistry, the life sciences, materials research and other disciplines. The diverse
scientific facilities at European XFEL enable scientists from across the globe to carry out a wide
range of experimental techniques.
For our Electronic and Electrical Engineering group we are looking for an
Engineer for Cable and Rack Management (f/m/d)
The Position
- instruments cabling: definition and routing of cables
- generate project relevant documentation
- instruments racks management: Rack room / Rack space planning
- coordination, supervision and quality control of outsourced projects
- support cabling tendering process (provision of documents for "Leistungsverzeichnisse“)
- support in building new infrastructure
- establish new cable planning software tool within the company
Requirements
- academic degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- excellent knowledge in the field of EMSR (measurement and control technology)
- work experience of several years in relevant field
- work experience with EPLAN P8, EPLAN Cable ProD is considered an asset
- working experience with field bus / PLC systems is considered an asset
- ability to work in a targeted, structured, productive and self-responsible manner
- ability to work in a multi cultural team
- fluent communication skills in German and English
